Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands requesting him to declare Ram Navami which falls on 21st of April 2021 as Public Holiday.
Ajoy Bairagi in his letter has mentioned that Ram Navami is not declared as a Public Holiday inspite of its great importance among the Hindu Community.
He further added that Ram Navami is part of spring Navratri and falls on the Ninth Day of Sukla Paksha in the Hindu Calendar month of Chaitra. The Festival indicates the victory of goodness over the evil and establishment of dharma to defeat adharma.
He further added that there is a firm request from all corner of the Islands to declare 21st of April 2021 as Public Holiday for the occasion of Ram Navami.
He requested the Chief Secretary to look into the issue and do the needful by declaring 21st April, Ram Navami as a Public Holiday.
