The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has raised concerns over the plight of government employees posted in Kamorta, Katchal, and other islands in the Nancowry Group. In a formal appeal to the Chief Secretary of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Mr. Halder highlighted the persistent hardships faced by these employees due to the lack of government residential quarters.
Mr. Halder pointed out that many employees are forced to share cramped rental accommodations, with three to four individuals often living in a single room for extended periods. He noted that this situation not only creates financial and logistical challenges but also adversely affects the morale, well-being, and overall efficiency of the employees serving in these remote and difficult areas.
Emphasizing the urgent need for intervention, Mr. Halder urged the administration to take immediate steps to establish government quarters in these islands. He stressed that providing proper housing facilities would significantly improve the living conditions of the employees and enhance the quality of public service delivery in these critical regions.
The appeal has brought attention to the long-standing issue, and the Congress leader hopes that the administration will take swift action to address the concerns of government employees serving in these isolated islands.
