Billiground Police Crackdown: 500 Litres of Illicit ‘Lehan’ Destroyed in Govindpur-2 Jungle Raid

In a decisive operation conducted on March 27th, 2024, the Billiground Police achieved a significant breakthrough by seizing a substantial quantity of illicit liquor hidden within the Govindpur-2 forest in Badamnallah.

Responding swiftly to actionable intelligence, Sub-Inspector M.V Shiju Kumar, Station House Officer of PS Billiground, orchestrated a specialized team comprising ASI Muchray Munda, in charge of OP Badamnallah, ASI (IRBn) Rajni Babu, and constables Anurudra Mondal and Mustafa. Their coordinated efforts led to the confiscation of 500 litres of ‘Lehan’, concealed deep within the jungle. Additionally, the team discovered and seized three iron drums, four plastic jerricans, various utensils, and timber materials utilised in the illicit liquor production process.

Under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Rangat, and the overall direction and oversight of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District, the operation culminated in the destruction of all confiscated items. This action dealt a significant blow to the clandestine network involved in the illegal manufacturing of liquor.
