Income Tax Department Sets Up Control Room in Kolkata to Curb Black Money Use in 2024 General Elections

In a bid to deter the utilisation of black money for electoral purposes and to thwart monetary inducements during the upcoming General Elections to the Lok Sabha in 2024, the Income Tax Department in Kolkata has established a 24×7 Control Room. This measure is aimed at maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring fair elections.

The Control Room, operational until June 4, 2024, will serve as a central hub for receiving complaints related to the movement of cash and valuables potentially involved in electoral malpractice. Vigilant citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities by contacting the Toll-Free Number: 1800-345-5544, or through the provided Land Line Numbers: (033) 2262-8150 & (033) 2441-0325. Additionally, complaints can be lodged via email at snoitwb2024@gmail.com.
