Cellular Jail and NSCB Island to Remain Closed Due to VVIP Visit

Andaman and Nicobar Administration through a press release has informed that due to the scheduled visit of the VVIP to the Islands the National Memorial Cellular Jail will remain closed from 10th October to 17th October 2021. The Museum, Light and Sound Show at Cellular Jail will also remain closed during the period.

Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Island (Ross Island) including the light and sound show on the Island will also remain closed from 10th to 18th October 2021. 

Union Minister of Home Affairs and Union Minister of Co-operation, Mr. Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the Islands.

  1. Unfortunate, IT HAPPENS ONLY IN INDIA.
    We plan to reach Port Blair on 11/10/2021 and stay till 18/10/2021. We are to visit the sacred Cellular Jail on 11/10/2021, do we miss it?
    Are verified tourists of Indian origin such a threat? If so it could have been notified earlier

    1. Unfortunately, NSCB Island (Ross Island) will remain closed on 12th October 2021. Mr. Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the Islands and so the Administration has taken the decision.
