Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, visited Little Andaman and engaged with members of the Ranchi Community at the APWD Guest House in Hut Bay on 18th November 2024.
During the meeting, Mr. Ray informed the community that their long-standing demand for inclusion under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category is under active consideration by the Central Government. He listened attentively to the grievances and local challenges faced by the community members.
The MP also met with local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to discuss organisational matters and strengthen party activities in the region.
Addressing the concerns raised by the Ranchi Community and other residents, Mr. Ray assured them that he would escalate their issues to appropriate forums to seek timely resolutions.
His visit underscored his commitment to addressing the concerns of residents in remote areas of the islands and promoting political dialogue across the region.
