Senior Officials Conduct Inspection of Remote Polling Booths in Campbell Bay Tehsil Ahead of General Elections 2024

In preparation for the upcoming General Elections 2024, a team of senior officials led by Ms. Jyothi Kumari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar, embarked on a two-day official visit to Campbell Bay Tehsil. Accompanied by Mr. Sunny Gupta, IPS, SP Nicobar, Mr. Abhishek Gulia, DANICS, Assistant Commissioner of Campbell Bay, and Mr. Firoj Alam, DANIPS, SDPO Campbell Bay, along with sector officers and other officials, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) available in remote and critical polling stations.

The officials left no stone unturned as they meticulously inspected isolated and critical polling booths in Campbell Bay Tehsil, including Afra Bay, Pillolow, Pillobha, Pilopatia, Pilopanja, Makachua, Chingan, Shompen Hut, and Lawful Bay. Their primary objective was to ensure that these polling stations were adequately equipped with necessary facilities and amenities for the polling teams.

Throughout their visit, the officials emphasised their commitment to conducting free and fair elections. They engaged extensively with the residents of these remote villages, gathering firsthand feedback on existing facilities and addressing any concerns raised by the local community. These interactions also served as a platform for raising awareness about the importance of voter participation in the democratic process.

The visit underscored not only the dedication and preparedness of the officials involved but also highlighted the significance of grassroots engagement in the electoral process. The efforts made by the team to assess facilities and interact with the local community demonstrate their unwavering commitment to fostering an enabling environment for democratic participation.
