Crescent Public School, aligning with the directives of the Ministry of Education, fervently observed Jal Pakhwada from April 16th to April 30th, 2024, with a mission to instill water conservation consciousness and sustainability ethos among students ranging from Class IX to Class XII.
Throughout the fortnight-long observance, students of Crescent Public School actively engaged in a spectrum of educational and community-driven initiatives. Noteworthy among these was the Essay and Drawing competition held within the school premises on April 24th, 2024, where students showcased both their creative flair and environmental cognisance.
Further enhancing the students’ commitment to environmental stewardship was a poster competition exclusively focused on water conservation. The top 5 posters from this competition were prominently displayed during a street play held on April 27th, 2024, near Bambooflat, amplifying the visual impact of the event.
The apex of the festivities was reached on April 27th, 2024, as students took to the streets of Bambooflat, in close proximity to the local police station, to stage a compelling street play centred around water conservation. This impactful endeavour was made possible through the collaborative endeavours of the school, local authorities, and the enthusiastic participation of the students.
The smooth execution of the program was overseen graciously by Mr. Uday Shankar Tikadar, GTT Social Science, and Saritha Kumari, PGT Hindi. The invaluable cooperation and support extended by the police officials played a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless organisation of the event.
In a gesture of gratitude, Heeba, a student from Class XII, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all involved towards the resounding success of the Jal Pakhwada initiative.
Crescent Public School remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing environmentally-conscious citizens.
