Independent Candidate V K Abdul Aziz’s Election Manifesto Features 100% Job Reservation for Islanders, 100 Units of Free Electricity and Many Other Endeavours

As the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024 draw near, Mr. V K Abdul Aziz, an Independent Candidate contesting from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency, has unveiled his election manifesto. With the polling date set for April 19, 2024, Mr. Aziz is intensifying his campaign efforts across the islands.

Mr. Aziz’s manifesto outlines a series of endeavours aimed at addressing various issues and concerns pertinent to the residents of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Among the key highlights of his manifesto are:

1. Prioritisation of Inner Line Permit: Mr. Aziz pledges to implement Inner Line Permits in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

2. Special Priority for Islanders in Tourism and Business: He advocates for giving special priority to islanders in tourism and all types of business activities across the islands.

3. Job Reservation and Security: Mr. Aziz promises 100% job reservation for islanders, ensuring job security for every family (“HAR GHAR NUKRI”).

4. Monthly Allowance for Vulnerable Groups: He proposes providing a monthly allowance of ₹5,000 to widows, senior citizens, and specially-abled persons.

5. Land Transactions Only Between Locals: Mr. Aziz advocates for restricting the buying and selling of land and property in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to locals only.

6. Simplification of Land Registration Process: He aims to simplify the land registration process and minimise stamp duty.

7. Restarting Land Diversion Process: Mr. Aziz pledges to restart the land diversion process.

8. Free Electricity: He promises to provide 100 units of free electricity to every household.

9. Equal Pay for Contract and Outsourced Staff: Mr. Aziz advocates for providing 1/3rd of the permanent employees’ basic pay structure to contract, DRM, and outsourced staff.

10. Filling Vacant Government Positions: He vows to fill all vacant posts in government departments across the islands.

11. Prompt Posting of Candidates: Mr. Aziz promises to ensure prompt posting of candidates as per the panel list in their respective departments.

12. Equal Payment Structure: He advocates for maintaining an equal payment structure for contract, DRM, and outsourced staff across all government departments.

13. Construction of Sports Facilities: Mr. Aziz pledges to construct 10 well-equipped stadiums with swimming pools in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

14. Improvement of Government Hospitals: He aims to enhance the condition of government hospitals across the islands.

15. Construction of Chatham-Bambooflat Bridge: Mr. Aziz promises to expedite the construction of the Chatham-Bambooflat bridge.

16. Regularisation of Land Ownership: He pledges to regularise the land acquired by people living for generations near forest areas.

17. Resolution of Tsunami-Affected Issues: Mr. Aziz vows to address the matter of unpaid money owed to Tsunami-affected people.

18. Free Bus Passes for Students: He proposes providing free bus passes for all school students in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
