To facilitate voting in Lok Sabha Election-2024, special arrangements have been made for Absentee Voters in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency (ANIPC). These arrangements specifically target individuals aged 85 and above, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), individuals suspected or affected by Covid-19, and those involved in essential services, enabling them to vote via Postal Ballot.

To facilitate this process, Mobile Polling Teams have embarked on a mission to visit the homes of eligible absentee voters across ANIPC. The visitation is scheduled for April 12th and 13th, 2024, with the aim of ensuring that all eligible individuals can exercise their voting rights without leaving their residences.

The initiative seeks to address the challenges faced by vulnerable and marginalised groups in participating in the electoral process. By bringing the polling facility to the doorsteps of eligible voters, the authorities aim to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in the electoral process.

All eligible voters falling under the categories of Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities, and those suspected or affected by Covid-19, who have been approved for voting via Postal Ballot, are urged to make themselves available at their homes on the specified dates.

This initiative underscores the commitment of the election authorities to ensure the democratic rights of all citizens, regardless of their circumstances or challenges they may face. By proactively reaching out to absentee voters, the aim is to uphold the principles of democracy and ensure that every voice is heard in the electoral process.
