Island Boy Shiyad from Wimberly Gunj Secures Rank 743 in Civil Services Examination

In a proud moment for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shiyad, an islander from Wimberly Gunj village in South Andaman, has secured All India Rank 743 in the Civil Services Examination 2025.

Shiyad completed his early schooling at Crescent Public School, Wimberly Gunj, and later continued his studies at MES School, Stewart Gunj. After finishing his schooling in the islands, he moved to Kerala for higher education, where he pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.

Following the completion of his engineering degree, Shiyad began preparing for the prestigious Civil Services Examination. Displaying perseverance and determination, he successfully cleared the examination in his fourth attempt, securing Rank 743.

Shiyad is the son of Late K. Abdul Salam, who passed away in the year 2000, and Zubaida, who is currently serving as an Office Assistant at Crescent Public School, Wimberly Gunj. Belonging to a Pre-42 Moplah family, his achievement reflects his dedication and the unwavering support of his family throughout his journey.

His success has brought pride to the island community, particularly the residents of Wimberly Gunj, and is expected to inspire many young aspirants across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to pursue their dreams in the field of civil services.
