In a bid to revolutionize the livestock farming sector, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Government of India, has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative under the National Digital Livestock Mission. The latest addition to this mission is the Farmers Mobile Application – ‘1962’, now readily accessible for download on the Google Play Store.
Designed as a comprehensive tool, the ‘1962’ app emerges as a one-stop solution for livestock farmers, offering direct access to crucial resources and information essential for efficient management. Seamlessly integrated with the Ministry’s official website, the application ensures real-time updates on sector schemes and initiatives, empowering farmers with the latest developments at their fingertips.
A notable feature of the ‘1962’ app is the assignment of a distinctive QR code to each user. This unique identifier facilitates effortless identification and management, enhancing the overall efficiency of livestock farming operations. Moreover, the app establishes a seamless connection between animal tag IDs and their respective owner IDs, simplifying tracking and organisation processes for farmers.
In a move aimed at empowering farmers with comprehensive knowledge, the app also features ‘Pashupedia’ – a complete guidebook encompassing detailed information about various livestock species and breeds. This resource equips farmers with vital insights, enabling informed decision-making and enhancing productivity within the sector.
Authorities have urged all farmers engaged in livestock farming to embrace the digital transformation by downloading the ‘1962’ app and actively participating in the digitisation of Animal Husbandry. With this innovative tool at their disposal, farmers are poised to embark on a new era of efficiency and sustainability in livestock management, driving significant advancements in the sector.
