An Outreach Health Camp was recently conducted at Narayan Tikrey under the Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) Kalighat, aimed at strengthening primary healthcare services and promoting health awareness among residents.

The camp was organized under the leadership of Dr. Yogeshwaran SR, Medical Officer-in-Charge, HWC Kalighat, in coordination with the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Diglipur, and the District Health Society, Mayabunder, North and Middle Andaman.

As part of the programme, Dr. Shipra Mistry, Medical Officer (Ayurveda), conducted an awareness session on leprosy, educating attendees about its causes, early signs and symptoms, and the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment. She also highlighted the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and encouraged the public to adopt healthier lifestyle choices.

The camp featured a range of health services, including screening for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), haemoglobin (Hb) testing, and eye examinations. Beneficiaries were provided consultations under both Ayurvedic and allopathic systems of medicine. Necessary medicines were distributed to patients based on medical advice.

The programme was carried out under the overall supervision of Dr. Shalini Singh, CMO In-Charge, SDH Diglipur, reflecting the Administration’s continued efforts to ensure accessible and comprehensive healthcare services in remote areas of the district.
