A Pashu Camp was organised by the CD Block Mayabunder on February 20 with the objective of providing immediate veterinary healthcare services to Self-Help Group (SHG) members under the DAY-NRLM scheme.

The camp offered a range of services including health check-ups, vaccination, deworming, treatment of sick animals, and expert advisory support on scientific livestock management practices. The initiative aimed at strengthening the livelihood activities of SHG members and promoting sustainable income generation through improved animal husbandry.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pareek, Senior Veterinary Officer, Billiground, said that such Pashu Camps significantly benefit the community by supporting local livestock farmers and SHG members. He emphasised the importance of timely veterinary care, disease prevention, and adoption of improved livestock management practices to ensure better productivity and enhanced economic returns.

During the camp, the veterinary team provided on-the-spot treatment to animals, distributed medicines, carried out tagging of cows, and offered guidance to livestock owners on scientific rearing practices.

The camp witnessed active participation from 29 SHG members and farmers, reflecting growing awareness and interest in improving livestock health and strengthening income-generating activities in the region.
