On 20th April 2024, the JNRM College in Port Blair witnessed a crucial event as the Returning Officer of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency (ANIPC) conducted the post-poll scrutiny of all polling documents. The scrutiny adhered strictly to the guidelines laid out by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Adding an extra layer of oversight, Mr. B.N Singh, General Observer for ANIPC, was present throughout the process. This scrutiny marked a significant step in ensuring the integrity and transparency of the electoral process following the General Election-2024.
A total of 412 polling stations came under meticulous review, distributed as follows: North & Middle Andaman – 132, South Andaman – 223, and Nicobar District – 57. Each document underwent thorough examination, with contesting candidates, election agents, and authorised representatives bearing witness to the proceedings.
Following the scrutiny, there were no discrepancies or adverse findings reported. Contesting candidates, election agents, and authorised representatives expressed satisfaction with the process after meticulously reviewing the polling documents. This outcome underscores the credibility and fairness of the electoral process within the ANIPC constituency.
