In a swift response to a critical tip-off, law enforcement authorities successfully dismantled a major illicit liquor production operation hidden within the dense jungle of Shyamkund, Bakultala. The operation, led by Inspector R.K Mazumder of SHO PS Rangat, marks a significant stride in the ongoing crackdown on illicit activities.
Inspector Mazumder swiftly assembled a specialised team comprised of PCs Pranab Halder, K Samir, Yashwant Rao, and Ct Subol Bepari. Their well-coordinated raid into the depths of the Shyamkund forest uncovered an extensive cache of equipment dedicated to the production of illicit liquor.
With meticulous planning and unwavering determination, the team seized 10 tins containing an estimated 250 litres of Lehan, alongside an assortment of utensils and wood supplies used in the manufacturing process. These materials, strategically hidden across different locations within the jungle, were promptly destroyed, delivering a significant blow to the illicit liquor manufacturing network.
The entire operation unfolded under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, SDPO Rangat, and received overarching guidance from Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
Authorities urge the public to come forward with any credible information related to criminal or illegal activities, assuring anonymity for informants.
