Swift Justice: Court Convicts Accused in PS Kalighat NDPS Case

In a landmark decision, the Chief Judicial Magistrate of North and Middle Andaman District, Mr. Tarun Kumar Mondal, delivered a significant judgment in the PS Kalighat NDPS case, under FIR No. 21/2023, convicting the accused, Lila Debi. Charged under Section 20(b)(ii) A of the NDPS Act, 2012, Lila Debi now faces the consequences of actions as the court underscored the gravity of her offence.

The conviction serves as a stark reminder of the serious repercussions of violating the NDPS Act and sends a clear message to society: criminal activities will not go unpunished. The judgment reflects the judiciary’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that those who engage in illegal activities are held accountable.

The investigation was led by Sub Inspector Abdul Sajid, who worked tirelessly under the guidance of then Station House Officer of PS Kalighat, Sub Inspector Silpi Singha, with overall supervision by Superintendent of Police, Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS.

Sub Inspector Sajid’s diligent efforts in gathering crucial evidence played a pivotal role in securing the conviction.
