Much has been written about the proposed mega project at Great Nicobar Island in the last three years. Negative commentary on news websites and articles by self-proclaimed environmentalists were published in top publications nationwide.

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata had called for an Expression of Interest for the Development, Operation and Maintenance of Phase-I of the International Container Transhipment Port At Galathea Bay in Great Nicobar.

Ten entities have filed Expression of Interest with the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited, JSW Infrastructure Limited, Dutch dredging contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V., Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd., Container Corporation of India Ltd., Essar Ports, Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd., Navayuga Engineering Co Ltd., Vishwa Samudra Holdings Pvt. Ltd and PDP International Pvt. Ltd are the entities that have filed their EOI for the Development, Operation and Maintenance of Phase-I of the International Container Transhipment Port At Galathea Bay in Great Nicobar.

Submission of EOI by ten entities is a tight slap on the rumour mongers and haters of Great Nicobar Project who were counting that their smear campaign against the project will prevent companies from showing interest in the project.

  1. This is good news and makes very happy who loves India and realy its growth of india as well as ANDEMAN NICOBAR ISLANDS AND ITS PEOPLE. These are dirty Agents of China who sitting in AC rooms and barking like dogs dont want to see indian growth.Jai Modi ji..Jai Adani sir…OUR NATIONAL HEROS.GOD BLESS THEM

  2. It is a very positive development. That project will be of immense economic and strategic importance for India and particularly for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.Let us hope that it materialises in the given time frame.

  3. Getting more EIO’ does not mean that every thing is fine and using such word like SLAP ,shows that lobbying doesn’t resolve vital issues like sustainability

    Let us be civilized.
