The ‘NIPUN Chaupal’ programme, under the flagship Samagra Shiksha initiative, was organized at Government Secondary School, Junglighat, on February 22, 2025. The event, aimed at enhancing foundational literacy and numeracy skills among Balvatika students, saw active participation from teachers and parents.
The NIPUN Bharat Mission, which aspires to achieve language and numeracy proficiency among young learners by 2026-27, was the focal point of the gathering. Mr. S. Suresh Kumar, State Project Officer (SPO) of Samagra Shiksha and Deputy Director of Education (Planning), graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Addressing the attendees, Mr. Kumar commended the efforts of the young students, their parents, and teachers in making the event a success. He reiterated the commitment to achieving the mission’s objectives across all primary schools in the islands by 2026-27. He also encouraged parents and children to actively engage in both academic and co-curricular activities for holistic development.
Earlier, Vice Principal Ms. Aziz Fatma welcomed the gathering and emphasized the importance of the NIPUN Chaupal initiative. As part of the event, children and parents showcased activity models prepared with the guidance of teachers. A large number of parents attended the programme, which also featured a vibrant cultural presentation by young students, highlighting literacy and numeracy themes.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Balbeer Kaur, Headmistress (Primary).
