In a significant development leading up to the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, a three-time former Member of Parliament representing the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is poised to file his nomination today, March 22, 2024, as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate.
With a rich political history and a robust track record, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray’s candidacy has sparked considerable anticipation and excitement among constituents. The BJP, known for its meticulous planning, has orchestrated extensive arrangements for the nomination filing event, promising a spectacle of support and enthusiasm.
According to Mr. M Vinod, State Vice President and State Media Cell In-Charge, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray is scheduled to depart from the BJP Headquarters in Port Blair at 11 AM, accompanied by a fervent wave of supporters, to formally submit his nomination papers.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands, slated for polls in the first phase of the General Elections to Lok Sabha 2024, will go on poll on April 19, 2024.
As per the electoral schedule, the deadline for filing nominations is March 27, 2024, with scrutiny of nominations slated for March 28, 2024. Candidates have until March 30, 2024, to withdraw their nominations, setting the stage for a dynamic and competitive electoral landscape.
While several political parties, including the BJP, BSP, CPIM, ANJP, and ANDC, have already announced their respective candidates, the Congress party is yet to unveil its nominee for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency.
