Police Raid Uncovers Illegal Liquor Production in Shyamkund Jungle

In a decisive operation executed on 2nd March 2024, the Rangat Police achieved a major breakthrough by dismantling an illicit liquor production setup nestled within the depths of Shyamkund forest, Bakultala.

Acting swiftly on actionable intelligence, Inspector R.K Mazumder, Officer-in-Charge of PS Rangat, orchestrated the mission, assembling a specialised team comprising HC Pabitro Shikdar and PCs Subroto Banik and Pradeep Topno. Their proactive approach led to the confiscation of a substantial haul, including 260 litres of Lehan, concealed ingeniously amidst the foliage alongside 1 large plastic drum, 4 tins, assorted utensils, and timber materials integral to the distillation process.

Under the watchful gaze of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rangat, and the overarching guidance of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District, the operation unfolded seamlessly, culminating in the swift destruction of all confiscated items, effectively crippling the illegal liquor manufacturing nexus.
